Easter Buns

Using the Noosa Sourdough Starter Kit:

  • Follow the Master Recipe provided inside your kit (scan QR Code to get started)
  • In the mix up stage, add 1 tsp each of mixed spice, cinnamon, ground ginger, nutmeg and vanilla extract, plus 200g mixed fruit. You can use whatever you like, sultanas, currants, mixed peel, dates, figs, apricots etc. You will need to add an EXTRA 30g of water to your mix.
  • Continue as per the instructions. AFTER your dough has bulk proved for around 4 hours, cut into equal portions, depending on how big you want your buns!! About 8-10 buns per batch is good. Shape and let rest overnight.
  • Bake on 240 degrees for 25 min. Make a simple sugar syrup (equal parts water/sugar) and simmer until it thickens slightly. Brush over warm buns, then cross them with basic icing, makes them taste like a Boston bun!
